New Squidoo Lenses

Posted by Christine on September 8, 2009

It’s been a while since I’ve made squidoo lenses…

My most recent one is for Stray Tales, one of my self-published books. This one is a little different because of how I market it… with an invitation for people to go ahead and color the pages themselves.

I even tell people to send or email me a copy of the colored page and I would put it up. Unfortunately, few do. Oh well. I wish they would though, so I can see how they went about it.

I’ve got all 3 books with their respective lenses.
Still working on this Stray Tales one, with the whole coloring aspect still needing to be added.

Check them out there:

Superheroes Movies

Posted by Christine on March 26, 2009

Comic books are the movies of the time. There are so many comic characters and superheroes now being made into Hollywood fares. Not that I mind actually. In fact, I rather enjoy them.

I wonder what it says about us as a society. Are we in need of heroes? Are we hoping someone will fly in and save the day? I think in some ways we are that and more. We want to believe in Good again. We want to believe there are those out there all about helping others and doing the “right thing.”

The last couple I’ve seen are The Incredible Hulk and Hancock.  Both Edward Norton and Will Smith are enjoyable any day of the week, so I most certainly enjoyed both movies.

I’ve been posting small, quick reviews on the ciao site.

Here’s my list so far:

And since I am snowed in today up here in Colorado -I believe the correct term is White Out, my first- it’s probably going to be a movie day (and hot chocolate). Ha, ha.  :-)

Updating Squidoo Lenses

Posted by Christine on March 18, 2009

It’s been a while since I’ve been on this blog. I think I just had to take a break -too many sites and things to keep up with.

Anyway, lately I’ve been coming back to squidoo lenses I had made and upgrading them a bit with more information, images, fun gear, etc.

The two I’ve worked on so far are:

1- scooters! I got one earlier this year and have been riding it off and on depending on weather. It’s great fun and inspired me to go back and upgrade this lens a bit.

Check it out here: http://www.squidoo.com/scooters-for-fun

2- Corto Maltese. I’m a great fan of European comics and Hugo Pratt’s Corto Maltese adventures are extremely famous all over the world. I’m working on listing the albums for now. I’ve added a few images too for a better visual experience. Next will be some historical context for each album.

Check this one here: http://www.squidoo.com/Corto-Maltese-Adventurer

Take a minute to go through these squidoo lenses. I’m putting a lot of work into them and rather enjoy the way they’re coming out. Hope you do to.

Updating lenses

Posted by Christine on July 2, 2008

I am up to 8 squidoo lenses now. As I make new ones, I also go back and renew the earlier ones. I could have 20 by now if I just made them for the sake of having new pages up every other day, but somehow that does not sound very satisfying -at least for me.

I have 2 lenses in progress. One on Berries and the other on the Mont Saint Michel.

The Mont Saint Michel, a medieval beauty from Normandy, France, has a particular place in my heart, as you will see as this lens takes form and grows. I’ve got the bare components in place right now and will be adding the story of its construction soon.

I’ve gone back to my very first lens, the one on French comic book artist Moebius, to get it closer to what I want it to be. Check out the progress if you get a chance. I am really proud of how it’s shapping up.

Squidoo #6: A Cappella book 2

Posted by Christine on June 19, 2008

One lens closer to the Giant Squid title, for which 50 lenses are required…

This #6 is for vol.2 of my own personal book series: A Cappella. I made a lens for book 1 a few days ago and got around to book 2 yesterday. By the way, I upgraded the presentation a little too so look in to book 1 again.

Lens #6: www.squidoo.com/A-Cappella-Book2

The next one I think will be the Lensography that becomes necessary after a certain number of lenses are reached. It’s basically an index lens of one’s lenses. I know, I know, I only have 6 so far -but I figure I might as well set it up and plug in one lens at a time as I make it, rather than wait until I have 20 or 30 or more, and have to organize the whole thing. Much more efficient that way, don’t you agree?

So, for the next couple of days, I’ll be looking in on other lensmaster’s lensography to see the various formats for ideas, and get started on mine.

As always, be sure and visit the lens, rate it if you wish, and all comments always welcomed.
