What Would You Do?

Posted by Christine on October 21, 2008

What would you do if money were not a factor, if you could do anything you wanted to?

What gets your heart racing when you think about it? What are your passions? What do you want to accomplish more than anything else in this life time?

These are the questions I have been asking lately. There are no easy answers. Or rather, there are plenty of answers, it just seems like there are no easy way to go about them. It’s a little scary actually, pursuing a passion.

Why? Because it means being committed to it no matter what.

It means taking responsibility for whatever happens. It means there is no pointing fingers and blaming this or that in my life as being the reason I’m not doing what I really want to do. You see, if I choose to fully commit to pursuing my passion, then it is a choice I must make completely and wholeheartedly. There is not half way possible. Either I do it or I don’t. Either way, I choose and I take responsibility for it.

It’s a lot easier to remain in status quo and blame lack of time, lack of knowledge, wrong acquaintances, wrong place, wrong job, etc. etc. It is a lot harder to recognize that none of these excuses are valid, that if I really want something, it is up to me to go after it and make it happen.

There are plenty of people out there in the world who make it through apparently insurmountable odds and come out on top. Why is that? It’s because they made it their passion. The fire fuels it.

These are the questions going through my mind.

I am at a time in my life where I have put off doing the things I truly want to do out of fear. Fear of the unknown, and most of all, fear of failure.

I am working to change that.

Criticism and How to Respond

Posted by Christine on May 7, 2008

Isn’t it funny how a lot of people react to the enthusiasm of someone with new ideas?

Is it because somehow “new” is threatening? Unfamiliar? Different?…

It seems there’s always someone around to tell us all the reasons as to why it’s a bad idea, or it’s never going to work, or you’re going to fall flat on your face and make a fool of yourself, etc., etc., etc… ad nausea.

To all who have encountered obstacles when trying to push limits, pursue new projects, or explore new thoughts, I offer the following quote:

“Against criticism a man can neither protest nor defend himself; he must act in spite of it, and then it will gradually yield to him”
- Johann Wolfgang von Goethe (1749-1832)

No matter what we dream about, strive for, or endeavor to accomplish, there will be someone to criticize it, often in our immediate circle.

Every successful entrepreneur out there had a Day 1. Imagine if the likes of Donald Trump or Wayne Dryer, on that first day, said something like this:

- You know, you’re right. It’s ridiculous for me to think I can do [...XYZ...]. I’ll just go back to my day job and not entertain such crazy notions of success again. Who do I think I am?

He/She “must act in spite of it…”

Hmmm.

What are your critics telling you?

More importantly, how are you responding?

Adopting A Child Of My Own

Posted by Christine on April 18, 2008

For as long as I can remember, I have always known I would one day adopt one of more kids. Well, that time is now… only in this day and age, it takes a minimum of $20,000 of legal, medical, and overhead fees.

Now, I’m not going to let a little detail like that stop me, which is why I’ve come up with a brilliant way to raise as much of the money as I can.

Come on over and read my Press Release and find out how.

To Your Health and Happiness-
