What would you do if money were not a factor, if you could do anything you wanted to?
What gets your heart racing when you think about it? What are your passions? What do you want to accomplish more than anything else in this life time?
These are the questions I have been asking lately. There are no easy answers. Or rather, there are plenty of answers, it just seems like there are no easy way to go about them. It’s a little scary actually, pursuing a passion.
Why? Because it means being committed to it no matter what.
It means taking responsibility for whatever happens. It means there is no pointing fingers and blaming this or that in my life as being the reason I’m not doing what I really want to do. You see, if I choose to fully commit to pursuing my passion, then it is a choice I must make completely and wholeheartedly. There is not half way possible. Either I do it or I don’t. Either way, I choose and I take responsibility for it.
It’s a lot easier to remain in status quo and blame lack of time, lack of knowledge, wrong acquaintances, wrong place, wrong job, etc. etc. It is a lot harder to recognize that none of these excuses are valid, that if I really want something, it is up to me to go after it and make it happen.
There are plenty of people out there in the world who make it through apparently insurmountable odds and come out on top. Why is that? It’s because they made it their passion. The fire fuels it.
These are the questions going through my mind.
I am at a time in my life where I have put off doing the things I truly want to do out of fear. Fear of the unknown, and most of all, fear of failure.
I am working to change that.
